Szczyrk Gondola – Promenade along the Żylica River – Żywiec Lake
Distance: 37 km
Time: 3-4 godz.
Climbing: 404 m
The trip begins on the car park at the gondola lift. It’s an easy trail, without any technical difficulties, mostly along the Żylica River. Perfect for those taking their first steps in the e-biking. The elevation is small. Usually, the trip leads you on cycling trails and secondary roads, only short parts thereof are gravel roads.
At the beginning, the trail goes along a gravel road, avoiding the main road. Then, it changes into a cycling trail along the Żylica promenade and leads you through Buczkowice, then, through Rybarzowice, under the S1 road flyover. Next, it leaves the river and meanders along the picturesque backstreets of Łodygowice and Zarzecze towards the Żywiec Lake. En-route, you’ll come across a little wooden church. The last part is a dam leading you to the lake, beach and marina with sailing boats, kayaks and pedal boats. The Old Wives’ Mountain (Babia Góra) in the background is certainly worth a glimpse or two. Your way back to Szczyrk goes along small hills through Bierna and then takes you to the other bank of the Żylica River.
